MERCH

My most recent merch release features a series of t-shirts showcasing black-and-white images of Western red cedars photographed in 2026 on Meares Island, BC. These images focus on the scale, texture, and quiet presence of the old-growth forest—capturing details that speak to both age and resilience.

Meares Island is home to some of the oldest and largest Western red cedars on the coast, with many trees estimated to be over 1,000 years old. Towering in height and massive in diameter, these cedars have long held ecological and cultural significance, particularly for the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. The island itself became a landmark in conservation history, protected from logging in the 1980s and now recognized as part of a Tribal Park.

This collection reflects an ongoing interest in documenting these enduring landscapes, translating their presence into wearable pieces that carry a sense of place and history.

The fibrous bark, dense canopy, and hollow trunks provide shelter for birds, insects, and small mammals. As they age and decay, they become nurse logs—supporting new life by hosting seedlings, mosses, and fungi.
